New Luxury – A Pocket Superyacht

A Pocket Superyacht

Superyachts were once defined entirely by their size. As yachts have got larger and larger, though, it’s become clear that other criteria need to be used to separate a standard vessel from something altogether superior – better if not bigger. From this was born the idea of the “pocket superyacht”, a smaller boat that has all the qualities of a superyacht. It’s a definition that perfectly suits AQUON One, which might not meet the traditional superyacht requirements in terms of size, but has exceptional quality of design, build and finish, coupled with unique features and extraordinary comfort that make her a superyacht in any meaningful sense.

Fraser’s Tim Carbury, broker of AQUON One, knows the yacht market as well as anybody. He explains:

AQUON One is the definitive ‘pocket superyacht’, essentially because of her build quality and interior fit-out and finish. Throughout the yacht, you see detail, technology, standard or mechanical equipment and techniques that you would be used to seeing on any northern European 50-meter-plus custom yacht.

As with any superyacht, owners can fashion AQUON One to their own specifications. Cabin layout, interior design and hull color can be selected from a choice of options curated by the yacht’s award-winning designer Christian Grande. The perfect interior features high-end and sustainable materials such as Portuguese cork, recycled leather, and bamboo.

Notably, AQUON One’s cabins are built using resilient mounts to hang them within the hull, a method usually only found on the most advanced superyachts. This technique dramatically reduces noise and vibration, creating a peacefulness that few yachts can match – certainly none of similar size.

All this complements the Miele kitchen, luxury lighting from apure and Sonance’s state-of-the-art sound system. The yacht’s smart home system controls air temperature, sound, and other essential functions. Owners can consult with AQUON One’s multi-skilled team to customize the systems for their needs.

And in some ways, the zero-emissions AQUON One is even better than a superyacht. The unique off-grid energy system means the vessel generates its own renewable energy in form of solar and green hydrogen, eliminating fuel costs and drastically reducing maintenance fees. The sleek catamaran design creates more deck space, requires less crew to operate and has a lower draft, allowing the vessel access to hard-to-reach bays. That smaller size also means owners don’t have to pay as much in berthing fees. The perfectly formed superyacht that’s good for your pocket, AQUON One is redefining traditional definitions of luxury, creating an entirely new category of yacht.
