From July 6th until July 9th we had the pleasure to be part of the exhibition of the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge 2022, which took place at the Yacht Club de Monaco. The MEBC is organized since 2014 by the Yacht Club de Monaco in collaboration with the International Powerboating Federation (UIM) and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.
Redefining the Future of Yachting
The exhibition of the event featured smart and innovative technologies that define the future of yachting. From ground-breaking propulsion systems using renewable energy sources, such as solar or hydrogen fuel cells, to highly efficient propellers and smart energy control mechanisms. The goal is a cleaner, safer, and silent yachting experience that is in tune with the environment.
The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge offers student teams from leading universities a platform to present their boats and compete against each other in various categories. This year 38 teams from 22 universities and 21 nationalities participated in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. Congratulations to all participants for their innovative ideas and great work.
Unlocking the barriers of hydrogen in the maritime sector | Hydrogen Roundtable
The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, together with the Energy Transition Mission and the Yacht Club de Monaco, organized the 3rd Hydrogen Round table. An initiative that brings together international government and institutional stakeholders with international hydrogen project developers. Their goal is to assess where we stand today as well as to discuss hydrogen regulations in the maritime sector.
CEO and Co-Founder Christine Funck took part in the Hydrogen Round Table with the topic “Producing carbon-free energy onboard”, where she presented our vision and the uniqueness of the AQUON One energy system.
Presenting the Friends of SEA Index Emblem
During the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, we finally had the opportunity to meet the team of the Superyacht Eco Association (SEA) in person. Natalie Quévert, project lead of the SEA Index, officially presented the Friends of SEA Index certificate to our CEO and Co-Founder Christine Funck. We are very pleased to be part of the important SEA Index community.
